About the event
Local artist, Jeff Wildgen, inspired by his time in Japan, spearheaded this unique community arts initiative bringing a little light into all of our lives. Enjoy the sight of whimsical ice art and candle-lit snow lanterns lining paths in the darker areas of town.

Local artists, creators, makers, students, parents & children are all invited to create and place ice art between the snow lanterns at any time. No permission needed. We ask that your ice art be made with natural materials (water, wood, stone, plants, etc.) as the theme of Moira Magic this year is “LIFE”. Examples of natural ice art are on the Moira Magic Facebook page
With adequate snowfall, and enough volunteers, the lanterns will ‘spark up’ near the end of January. Moira Magic is presented in cooperation with The City of Belleville, Belleville Downtown District BIA and The Quinte Arts Council (QAC). Moira Magic will be on display during Savour the Chill activities, on February 25, depending on snowfall.
